About Us: Bay Footcare

Bay Foot Care is a podiatry clinic providing high-quality foot and lower-limb care from our premises in Derry.

The clinic hosts a team of independent, self-employed podiatrists who practise from Bay Foot Care. Each podiatrist operates their own independent clinical practice and is responsible for their own professional registration, indemnity insurance, tax affairs, and clinical decision-making.

Bay Foot Care provides the premises, equipment, facilities, and administrative support. The podiatrists practising at the clinic are not employees, workers, or agents of Bay Foot Care.

Each practitioner:

  • Is registered with the HCPC

  • Holds their own professional indemnity insurance

  • Practises under their own clinical responsibility and judgment

Ciara (Orr) McDaid

(founder of Total Foot Care, previously known as Ciara Orr Foot Health Clinic) graduated from Ulster University in 2012 and has since worked privately and within the NHS, her last role in the trust being that of a diabetic specialist. She obtained a masters module in the Diabetic Foot in 2020. She has great dedication in providing the highest standard of care to all her patients. Ciara is not available to book online but you can ring the clinic to book in with her. She specialises in routine treatment, diabetic foot care, nail surgery and nail reconstruction.

Shaun O’Hea

Shaun O’Hea qualified in 2013 and has worked mainly in the NHS where he holds a specialist post in MSK and orthopaedics. Shaun’s main interests include biomechanics, sporting injury and nail surgery. Shaun offers corticosteroid injections for a variety of foot and ankle conditions and also shockwave therapy and custom made insoles. Ciara Brown

Ciara Brown graduated from Ulster University in 2014 and has worked in the NHS since. She worked in a high risk/diabetic specialist role and has obtained a Masters Module in Vascular Disease. She now specialises in an MSK role within the NHS. Ciara is excellent with nervous patients and can put anyone at ease with her lovely, placid nature. She specialises in wound care, biomechanics and shockwave therapy. Ciara B works on a Thursday 9am-1pm

Helen Ferry

Helen Ferry graduated from Ulster University in 2011 and has worked in the NHS in a high-risk diabetic specialist role. She now works as a senior podiatrist part-time for the HSE. She is one dissertation away from achieving her master’s degree. Helen has a lovely, calm disposition and great patience. You’d never know she is a busy working mum of 3 children. She specialises in wound care, nail surgery, and nail reconstruction. Helen works in a Thursday evening from 3pm-6pm.
